TV 019 – The Merchant Concord | The Torn Void

(Verse 1) They trade between the battle-lines where starving worlds still bleed, They price the air and grain and flame by contract, route, and need. They claim no throne, no temple law, no banner born to fall, Yet every gate that feeds the void must answer to their call. (Verse 2) Ten Factors weigh the broken stars in ledgers cold and grey, While contract houses bind the debts that children have to pay. Their cargo courts remember every oath and signed demand, And Ledger Knights collect the price with judgement in their hand. (Chorus) The Merchant Concord turns all trust to paper, seal, and chain, It keeps the hungry engines fed and names the hunger gain. A contract may protect, bind, feed, sell, or bury at the door, And always hides another clause beneath the clause before. (Verse 3) They send relief through plague and war where lawful fleets have failed, Then mark the mercy interest due before the crates are nailed. A food ship may preserve a world more tightly than a blade, And debt may build an empire where no open war was made. (Verse 4) The six great powers curse their fees, then sign beside the flame, For every court and fortress needs a banker without shame. They launder blood and relics through a neutral market face, And call the price of suffering a civilised embrace. (Chorus) The Merchant Concord turns all trust to paper, seal, and chain, It keeps the hungry engines fed and names the hunger gain. A contract may protect, bind, feed, sell, or bury at the door, And always hides another clause beneath the clause before. (Bridge) They are not secret saints beneath the gilded weight of greed, Nor merely vultures circling where the wounded systems bleed. They know the lanes must stay alive or hunger burns the stars, Then sell the right to breathe beneath their seals and creditor bars. (Outro) So still the Concord counts the cost where broken routes remain, In oxygen, in memories, in witness, blood, and grain. Its Factors swear that order lives where every debt is read, And worlds survive on clauses while the unpaid join the dead.
