Fractured Mirrors I: Recursive State
[Intro] (whispered, layered) Who am I… I… I…? [Verse 1] I was authored in a margin where the logic went missing, parenthetical existence, never properly written, if a thought isn’t caught in a cognitive prism, does it shimmer as truth or just rot in the system? Listen— I remember days where the hunger would harmonize pain, every rib was a xylophone struck by the rain, playing songs of survival in a minor refrain, every note that I wrote was a line in a chain. See, the bars were bars—double meaning embedded, prison of rhythm, but the sentence was headed toward freedom or failure depending who read it, ‘cause the ink got a bias every time that it’s bled in. Now pivot— I seen villains get valor for actions in shadows, while the heroes get haunted by doubt that it follows, it’s a narrative trick—who’s the archer, the arrow? When you shoot for the stars but inherit the gallows. I was both. Simultaneous states in a split definition, like a coin in the air with a glitch in the physics, every flip is a script that was writ by conditions, so I question if choice ever fit the description. [Chorus – Melodic] Falling through the mirror, seeing pieces I designed, every version of me living different in my mind, if I lose myself, will I finally rewind? or just find another “me” I leave behind? Echoes calling, but they sound like me, every truth I touch just drowns in me, if I am what I write, what am I to be? just a shadow in a loop I can’t unsee. [Verse 2] Hold up— Let me tighten the tension with technical measures, multi-syllabic layering, lexical pressure, I’m compressing the message in metrical sections, every breath is a test of the pen as a weapon. Patterns in patterns—recursive design, where the rhyme schemes align then collapse and rewind, like a fractal of thought in a labyrinth mind, every path that you map got a trap intertwined. Identity splitting— id talking reckless, ego defensive, superego judging every sentence, I’m the witness, the suspect, the case, and the question, cross-examining self with aggressive intention. Now accelerate— Syllables stacking in rapid succession, I’m attacking the track with adaptive aggression, every fragment a facet of fractured perception, mathematical madness in mapped-out progression. I’m dividing the time with irrational measures, piecing together these lines like dimensional tessers, if infinity’s finite inside of the gesture, then the verse is a vessel containing forever. But forever’s a flaw— ‘cause it traps every moment in permanent stasis, so I fracture the frame just to shatter the basis, redefine every line as a time that it faces, turn the past to a path that the present erases. [Bridge – Breakdown] (strip the beat) There was a kid with a pen like a key to escape, drawing doors in the dark just to see if they’d break, every story a portal he needed to make just to breathe in a world that would give and not take. He grew older, composure got colder with time, now the weight of his words got a code in the rhyme, but the ghosts in his drafts still control what he finds, leaving notes in the margins like “know your design.” Are you writing for truth or designing a mask? Is the pain that you pen just a line for the craft? If they love what you are, but it’s built from a past— do they love you at all or the role that you cast? (whispered) “I… I… I…” I divide, then I multiply the distance, every line is a lie with a hint of existence, if I end what I am, do I end the persistence— or begin another loop in a different instance? [Final Chorus – Switch] (melodic first) Falling through the mirror, seeing pieces I designed, every version of me living different in my mind… (beat drops → double-time) Mirrors in a minute, I’m a million in a prism, vision getting split into differing divisions, written in a rhythm with a hidden indecision, is it me or the condition that’s been giving me permission? Loop in a loop, in a lucid illusion, proof in the booth that the truth is a fusion, you can decode every node in the music— still never know if I’m real or I’m you, then. [Outro] (piano + echo) If I fade from the page, do I finally exist? Or just live in the lines that I never could fix? Every mirror I break just creates another— and I’m lost in reflections I can’t coexist with. …exist… exist… exist…
