Abiding in the Light

(Intro) Yeah... From the garden to the fiery sky, Through every battle and every cry. He meets us in our weakness, He meets us in our pain, So we can abide in Him, and He in us remain. (Verse 1: Genesis 3 & Genesis 22) In Eden’s shade, the fall began, The serpent lied, and distance ran. Genesis three, we hid our face, Yet even then He promised grace. Years rolled by to Moriah's height, Abraham walked through the testing night. "God will provide the Lamb," he said, Faith made a way where fear was dread. (Verse 2: Genesis 32:22-32 & Exodus 2:11) At the Jabbok ford in the midnight hour, Jacob wrestled with heavenly power. Limping away with a brand new name, Surrender is how the blessing came. Then Moses saw his people bound, Struck down a man on Egyptian ground. Thought he could fix it in his own might, Before he learned to walk in the Lord’s true light. (Chorus) He is the Vine, and we are the branches! Giving broken hearts second chances! Abide in Him, let Him dwell in your soul, He takes our weakness and makes us whole! From the altar fire to the chariot flight, Jesus abides in us, our eternal light! (Verse 3: Judges 16 & 1 Kings 3:5) Samson fell to the tempter’s snare, Blinded and bound in a state of despair. Yet in his last breath, he called on the Lord, And mercy restored what the enemy stored. Young Solomon prayed in the quiet of night, When the Lord asked what he desired in His sight. Didn't ask for wealth, didn't ask for fame, Just wisdom to honor the Almighty's name. (Verse 4: 1 Kings 18 & 2 Kings 2:11) On Carmel's peak where Elijah stood, Before the pagan prophets of stone and wood. The fire descended, the altar burned bright, The Lord is God! He proved His might! Then swift as the wind, the prophet was caught, A chariot of fire that the heavens brought. Carried away in a blaze of grace, To see his Creator face to face. (Chorus) He is the Vine, and we are the branches! Giving broken hearts second chances! Abide in Him, let Him dwell in your soul, He takes our weakness and makes us whole! From the altar fire to the chariot flight, Jesus abides in us, our eternal light! (Outro) Abide in Him... He abides in you. From the garden to the kingdom, Making all things new. Jesus, our strength. Amen!
