In the Beginning, There Was Fire

[Verse 1] A spark in the void no time no place The silence screamed in the Creator's face Let there be light and the dark split wide Stars were born and the heavens sighed [Chorus] In the beginning there was fire The breath of God a holy pyre From the dust we rise the clay and wire In the beginning there was fire [Verse 2] Earth was formless chaos danced The waters churned in a fierce romance He drew the line between sea and land Sculpted life with His mighty hand [Prechorus] From nothing to all in six short days The heavens shook as angels praised [Chorus] In the beginning there was fire The breath of God a holy pyre From the dust we rise the clay and wire In the beginning there was fire [Bridge] The serpent whispered the fruit was sweet Paradise crumbled beneath our feet Ashes to ashes we fell from grace But still the fire burns in this sacred space
