This is a track from my new album, Release, OUT NOW - available in all streaming platforms. A new track drops here in my Suno profile every week. Instagram / Tiktok: @mAIrtin.music "The Good Kid" came from a place of discomfort, in a moment of personal reflection: I was thinking about how hard it is for me to speak up, set boundaries and handle conflict. While writing, memories from my childhood rushed in, and I realized how much those early experiences shaped the adult I became. What started as one emotional song turned into a creative wave. I’ve written several songs since then - some of which made it to my album "Release". - X - X - X - [Intro] "Isn't he strange?" "Look at him... he's so... different!" [Verse] There’s a kid in the back, quiet and small Eyes on the ground, afraid to stand tall Trying to blend, to just be the same Hiding what’s different, masking the shame [Verse] They’d laugh and point, call him out of place Mock his steps, the look on his face So he learned to please, to make them smile Played the good kid, always in denial [Chorus] I’m tired of being that good kid to this day Carrying fear in the things I say Holding my nature, keeping it soft Afraid to speak up, to shake things off Self-doubt lingers, a weight I know Afraid of the stares, afraid to show [Verse] I learned to outshine, to earn their praise Thinking I’d change in a hundred ways But here I am, still stuck in the past In rooms full of people, fading fast [Verse] Words feel heavy, I hide what's real Afraid they’ll judge what I'll reveal Smiles disguise the weight inside Still that kid, stepping out of sight [Chorus] I’m tired of being that good kid to this day Carrying fear in the things I say Holding my nature, keeping it soft Afraid to speak up, to shake things off Self-doubt lingers, a weight I know Afraid of the stares, afraid to show [Outro] I don’t want to keep holding back... No, no, no, no... I’m tired of hiding, I'm tired of the lack... Hope I can break these chains Piece by piece Step by step Toward my release...
