V6

[Intro] Tiptoe, tiptoe, under the fern, Tiny red hats at the compost turn. One says “bonjour,” one says “cheese,” One is negotiating with the garden peas! [Verse 1] Happy little gnomes in a shoebox town, Polishing acorns while the sun goes down. Gribble wears socks on his hands for flair, Pip has a teacup balanced on his hair. They run a bakery inside a boot, Selling moon pies and invisible fruit. The mayor is seven inches tall, His campaign promise: “More soup for all!” [Pre-Chorus] Shake your beard, ring your bell, Tell the tulips all is well. If a mushroom starts to sing, That’s not weird—it’s Tuesday spring! [Chorus] Happy little gnomes, hop-hop-hopping in a row, With a pickle in a pocket and a wiggle in their toe. Happy little gnomes, everybody shout hooray, They put a tiny party hat on a potato every day! Hey! Ho! Where’d my button go? Hey! Ho! Ask the crow! Happy little gnomes, making nonsense overflow, If you blink, they reorganize your socks in stereo! [Verse 2] Bumble plays a trumpet made of celery, He’s technically banned from the library. Noodle has a map to the center of cheese, But it only says “turn left at the sneeze.” A gnome named Wobble rides a snail, Wearing goggles and a homemade sail. He yelled, “Full speed!” The snail said, “Fine,” Then arrived sometime in 2009. [Pre-Chorus] Clap your boots, tap the floor, Knock three times on the pantry door. If the cupboard answers back, Give it one congratulatory snack! [Verse 3] At the annual underground parade, They march beneath a lemonade shade. There’s a kazoo band, a spoon brigade, And one confused gnome dressed as marmalade. The dancers do the cauliflower twist, Nobody knows what the steps have missed. Left foot, right foot, wiggle your chin, Spin like a pancake—careful, don’t spin! [Bridge] Shh… the moon is wearing slippers. Shh… the beetroot’s doing flippers. Shh… the mayor has lost his hat. Shh… it’s hiding on the cat. Wait! The cat is wearing seven hats! The hats are singing, “Meow meow meow!” The gnomes applaud, The onions bow, The broccoli takes a curtain call somehow! [Breakdown] Gnome one: “Who stole the jam?” Gnome two: “The ham did it!” Gnome three: “That makes no sense!” Gnome four: “Exactly! Admit it!” Boing-boing, cabbage drum, Flip-flop, here the raisins come. Zip-zap, wiggle-wiggle knees, Everybody moonwalk past the peas! [Verse 4] Morning finds them sleeping in a vase, Except for Crumble, who is racing a bass. The fish says, “Please, I have a meeting at ten,” Crumble says, “Great! Let’s do that again!” They mail a postcard to the sky, It comes back stamped “please specify.” They build a rocket out of toast, Then launch it toward the butter coast. [Pre-Chorus] Shake your nose, salute a pear, Put a tiny bowtie on your chair. When the teapot starts to groove, Clear the room and let it move! [Final Chorus] Happy little gnomes, hop-hop-hopping in a row, With a pickle in a pocket and a wiggle in their toe. Happy little gnomes, zig-zag-zipping through the lawn, Borrowing the sunrise till the afternoon is gone. Happy little gnomes, raise a spoon and sing along, Everything is slightly wrong, which means everything is right! [Outro] Tiptoe, tiptoe, hats in the breeze, Goodnight, little gnomes, goodnight to the peas. One says “bonjour,” one says “cheese,” One is asleep in a bowl of spaghetti. Happy little gnomes! Tiny little toes! Who put googly eyes On all the garden hoes? Happy little gnomes! One last little cheer! If you find a sock in your teapot, Please return it next year!
