(Verse 1) “If only I could see the Lord,” I heard a skeptic say, “Or hear His voice or feel his touch my doubts would melt away. Like Thomas, I would call him Lord, if I could feel his scars. Until I do, I’ll doubt he’s true, my faith is in the stars. Just then he heard a soft voice say, “Look in, not up, my friend. The stars you trust were less than dust until He put them there. The arms of grace are open wide; He offers life to all. His light dispels the darkest night and frees man from the fall. “And though you never see the wind, nor hear the dark of night, you’ll feel His awesome presence when you step into the light. Child, if you want to feel His scars and see Him face-to-face, you’ll need to find Him in your heart, His special hiding place.” (Verse 2 “If only I could serve the Lord,” I heard a Christian say, "I'd build a church or feed the poor, but life gets in the way. My home, my work, yes, even church can keep me occupied, and I forget to serve the one who on that cruel cross died. Forgive me, Lord, for putting you in distant second place, when you gave all to rescue me through your amazing grace. Lord, help me show my thankfulness for all the gifts you give, and show the world that you’re my Lord by how I choose to live. (BRIDGE) The vision of our church has been To live, love, serve like Christ If Jesus were to visit us, He might give this advice: (Verse 3) Don’t spend time patting your own back for all the things you’ve done. Ask yourself whom you have served, yourself or God’s own Son? Whom have you loved that’s not like you in politics or race? How many folks would see through you Our loving Savior’s face? Some Day our Lord is coming back, and when He does, I pray, Well done, good, faithful servant will be the words he’ll say. (Verse 4) The God of Hope brings joy and peace to those who trust in Him. He saved us from our fallen state and washed away our sins To live and love and serve like Christ, a vision we now claim. Let everything, we do today bring honor to God's name. Let everything we do today bring honor to God’s name.
