Turning Walls into Bridges like Jesus

+ Show full styles

I breathe in… and I remember: we all carry two powers — the power to create, and the power to destroy. But God gave us His Word, so we could choose life. Jesus showed us the way, so we could walk in love. The Spirit whispers within us, so we don’t forget who we are. When fear rules our voice, words become weapons. They cut, they scar, they raise walls higher and higher until even God’s light feels far away. But when love leads— when Jesus is at the center— words soften into medicine. They heal, they mend, they turn walls into bridges. (pause — one soft singing bowl note, or choir hum “mmm”) We all know what it feels like— to be unheard, to be lost in the echo of our arguments, to believe the enemy’s lie that we are alone. But the echo stops when we call on the name of the Lord. (palo santo strike sound or gentle breath into mic — or soft church bell tone) So cleanse the air. Open the room. Invite the Spirit. Not to fix another person, but to clear a holy space inside yourself. This is where healing begins. (music swells — piano pad, soft strings, gentle choir “ahhh”) Imagine someone you love, across a bridge. Maybe it’s a partner, a friend, a family member. Maybe it’s yourself. You are here. They are there. And between you—Jesus is the bridge. The cross has always been the path. The Spirit calls you forward. God’s love is waiting in the middle. But fear keeps us frozen. Pride keeps us distant. Walls feel safe, but they keep us from His embrace. (two soft chime notes, spaced apart, like angelic bells) Here’s the truth: The bridge is built on the Word of God. Every harsh word, every doubt, is another stone in the wall. But every prayer, every act of grace, is a plank laid down across the gap. So choose: Build a wall, or build a bridge. (pause — soft breath, heartbeat drum fades quieter, faint gospel organ enters) I offer myself as that bridge. Because Christ first offered Himself for me. My words can heal. My silence can listen. My heart is open— because His heart beats in me. If you take it, take it gently. If you break it, the harm returns. But if you hold it with care, we can meet in the middle, where Jesus has always been waiting. (music quiets — just soft pad, single voice or choir hum) Reflection — here’s the twist: The bridge is not just between you and them. The bridge is also within you. Every time you choose love over fear, you step closer to Christ within. Every time you use words to bless, you walk into the Spirit’s flow. And when both people do this, the bridge disappears. Not because it wasn’t needed— but because there is no distance left to cross. Only God. Only love. Only home. (final singing bowl note or gospel choir chord — let it ring, fade to silence) Breathe. This is the moment. God is here. Jesus is the bridge. The Spirit is the breath. Choose words that build. Choose to walk in love. Choose to cross the bridge.
