When doing Deep Brain Reorienting therapy, we may come across bracing of various kinds. It is known that one of the reasons why we cannot solve a problem is because of the way that we are perceiving the problem. In effect our perceptions ARE the problem. It is important based on the analysis of the conditions present to be able to accurately problematise WHAT the problem is. We will start looking at commonly observed movement behaviors pertaining to bracing and armoring: 1. Bracing Against Full Orienting. 2. Transfixing On Looming Stimulus 3. Bracing As Part of Shock 4. Recoil of The Head In Shock 5. Unbalanced Bracing of Shoulders with Shock 6. Armouring Against Core Aloneness Pain 7. Bracing Against Affect and Affective Overwhelm 8. Bracing Against Full Awareness of Distressing Affect, E.G., Grief 9. High Arousal Dissociation from Intense Affects - Grounding: follow the body's holdings and encourage contraction then release 10. Low arousal dissociation from intense affects - grounding from collapsed immobility. These are ten things to know about bracing and armoring when using A T Interweaves for DBR Therapy!
