Notes on Suno: Grok's Process (General)

V3.5

Note: this is an instrumental, it has no lyrics, this is just where I'm keeping my notes on what I'm learning through Suno, because god forbid my credits run out this month and I forget nearly f**king everything again. Quick Summary of general notes: - I have trained my Suno account via thumbs up and thumbs down, and it's now stopped singing paragraph long prompts... mostly. It's still a roll of the dice, but it lands in my favor most of the time - as long as it's done BEFORE the enhance metatags. After is more of a crapshoot. - the paragraph-long prompts REALLY make a difference, especially when it comes to genre shifts. I'm never sure exactly how much Suno is weighting with it, it's definitely not THAT much of it, but it definitely takes the first two sentences or so. - [enhance <insert plug-in or generalized FX> to <emotion-word>] is surprisingly effective. I barely trained this, but the formatting and keywords are SUPER important. - [enhance sidechain X to Y] isolates X over Y, which means [enhance sidechain kick to lead] works a lot. - [enhance drums to intense] works well, AND it stacks. Actually all the enhance tags stack. I haven't figured out whether it's the structure of the genres I'm using - they might be, since mostly when I use those tags I'm in electronic - but it's a trend that near the end my drums hit a lot harder after about five extends of [enhance drums to intense] - the order is sidechain AFTER enhancing drums to intense. - [enhance subwoofer boost to maximum] is fantastic for punchier, more electronic kicks. [enhance bass boost to maximum] also works but enhances the entire low end, which fucks up a lot of my mixes with brass and saxophone samples, makes it really muddy. - [activate enhance audio quality to masterpiece] works very well, too - I think it's about equally as effective as putting 'mastering' in the style box, but they also stack with each other. I feel like I'm taking advantage of Joshuasca here, since I learned the [enhance] tags from him, but they work, so eh. Genre Shifting: - Style box is about 70% structural, 30% content, and the first THREE tags separated by commas are weighted the heaviest; after that, it gets a bit less likely to be listened to by Suno. Still possible, especially if you gen a lot on one prompt, but it's a much lower possibility. - Lyric box metatagging is significantly more precise than style box, which has its downsides too. - Style box is coarse control, lyric box metatagging is fine control - Lyric box metatagging is read downwards by Suno, so be careful of the order things are put in.
