I’m a spaceman on my ship, flyin' through the hollow dark, runnin’ from a captain’s whip, with a laser-burnt-up heart. Ain’t no sun to warm my bones, just the stars and busted drones, but I keep drivin’, all alone, singin' to the static tones. Well I drank with ghosts in Delta-Three, played cards with a clone who cheated me. I fell in love on Io's ice, she left me broke... but damn, real nice. Now I got scars and stories, friend, and a bot who pretends to comprehend, But I still tip my hat to the void, like a cowboy never employed. Got a bounty on my head, for stealin’ back what once was mine. They said my crew was dead, but hell, I seen 'em shimmerin’ in time. I talk to my old ship’s AI, calls herself Chimera’s Cry, she hums old tunes when I can't sleep, and tells me lies I like to keep. I had a dream of land and peace, but space don't trade in gentle things. And still... I'd trade my blaster for a breeze. I drank with ghosts in Delta-Three, told a joke that made a mechbot pee. I fought the war of Mars and pride, but ran like hell when my horsebot died. I’ve lost my ship, my leg, my luck, but not the songs I never suck, So I hum my tune through wires and rust, and raise a glass to cosmic dust. Lesson learned: Never trust a synth in a cowboy hat. Especially if he smiles.
