Verse 1 A word from Caesar crossed the land, a name on every line; But Joseph heard a promise first—God’s covenant and sign. From Nazareth he set his face, with Mary by his side; Step after step, they walked by faith, and heaven was their guide. Chorus On the road to Bethlehem, God keeps His word again; In crowded rooms and humble space, His mercies still descend. Son of David, promised One, Light the prophets knew— On the road to Bethlehem, we walk by faith with You. Verse 2 The Jordan’s plain, the desert climb, the ridge of Judah’s stone; The guest room full, the hearth made warm—no royal court or throne. And while they tarried, days were filled; her hour gently came— The world kept counting common things; the Lord prepared a Name. Chorus On the road to Bethlehem, God keeps His word again; In crowded rooms and humble space, His mercies still descend. Son of David, promised One, Light the prophets knew— On the road to Bethlehem, we walk by faith with You. Bridge Make room within my heart tonight, Like Bethlehem, make room; I’ll follow where the Spirit leads And welcome Heaven’s Son. Final Chorus On the road to Bethlehem, God keeps His word again; From Nazareth to every soul, His grace will find its end. Son of David, Son of God, faithful, pure, and true— On the road to Bethlehem, I’ll walk by faith with You.
