[Intro - Acoustic Guitar Loop] [Bass enters] [Verse 1] Each night I come a little closer Drawn in, I cannot stay away The light it calls my name so softly Just like it does, night after night I watch the flame, it moves so gently Like it understands what I must do What I must do What I must do [Drums enters] [Chorus] (And I know, and I know) The moth knows why it flies (And I know, and I know) The moth knows why [Acoustic changes to Electric guitar] [Verse 2] My skin feels thin against the evening The warmth wraps round me like a shroud I've memorized each step toward brightness My body aches to feel its touch To feel its touch To feel its touch [whole band builds intensity] [Chorus] (And I know, and I know) The moth knows why it flies (And I know, and I know) The moth knows why [Verse 3] [vocalist shouting] [band at max intensity] Soon there will be no separation Between the heat and what I am I'll dance among the rising currents Until I'm pure, until I'm free Until I'm nothing Until I'm nothing Until I'm nothing but the light [bass stop] [Chorus] (And I know, and I know) The moth knows why it flies (And I know, and I know) [drums stop] The moth knows why (The moth knows why) [Fade out with guitar loop]
