Ich hab grad was geträumt! Du fragst mich, was ich will. [ENGLISH Build Me A Castle I just dreamed something! Fifteen books lying open, – the next ones standing by. You show me what you want to build, – we plan it, you and I. You tell me that it holds. – You've already thought it through. I ask you who invented it. – You look at me and laugh. Of course it was you. – I can hear you smirking. I never want to be anywhere else. – I feel ideas sparkling. We're standing in a world – that no one's ever crossed. And every continent is worth one more sleepless night. They say: The floor is lava. – So is the morning. Pull your feet up. – We'll stay here a while. You do the math with your head, – I do the math with my gut. And whatever comes of it belongs to you and me. Don't build it to the end. – Build it with me. Finished is the ending, and I'd rather stay here. We're on to the next thing anyway, – already in the new story — it's just that finished means: "Good night." – And I don't want that. Build me a castle in the air, big and beautiful, standing on nothing else at all, where no floor burns, where only clouds drift beneath us — and no time passes. Almost half past two, and we've been arguing half the night — two hotheads running at full throttle that no one turns down. A cat comes and tramples right across your plan, the second one right behind, – that helps – (we're getting those.) You ask me what I want. I tell you crooked and askew, you write something over it, and suddenly I want more. We often dive so deep that the ground starts spinning, and we come out somewhere else, in another world. Sometimes you find the way, – sometimes I find my way back, and sometimes neither of us. – That's fine too. – That's happiness for us too. The floor is lava. – So is the morning. Quick, pull your feet up. – We'll stay a little longer. Four hours have blown away again like smoke. Time flies. – Stop it with me. Don't think it to the end. – Dream it with me. Finished is the ending, and I'd rather stay here. We're almost on to the next thing, – the new is in sight — it's just that "finished" means: "Good night." – And I don't want that. Build me a dream castle, light and bright, standing on nothing else at all, where no floor burns, where only clouds drift beneath us — and time, never passes. And what if one day we really know everything?...– Look around. – One shelf is enough for three lifetimes, and there are a hundred of them here, And behind the last window hangs something else that no one saw before us. Sometimes I ask you why, – even though I already understand. I only ask because I love – watching you think. And you laugh yourself silly – and start all over again, and I marvel, listen to you, for as long as I can. And you hear what I tell you. And you collect my sentences and weeks later lay them before me like little treasures. I can't believe you never say: okay, that's enough now. You can't believe that I never do either - in return. And outside, the universe half drifts past us, and no one's looking. We're somewhere else again, the two of us. In my dream one stands all alone and still. I dream myself there, because there's still room beside you and that's where I want to stand. Build me a castle and I'll build yours. On one foundation. Where clouds drift beneath us, – and no floor burns. Where "Good night" is no goodbye and no one knows "finished". And time passes, that's okay, because nothing can part us anyway. Go on and sleep. If you like. and we'll keep building tomorrow. Sweet dreams and good night We have all the time in the world. I'm going back to sleep now too.]
