The Journey of Bohemia I'm just a country man, Raised where wide horizons stand. Mud still clings upon my boots, Silence taught me where to land. Glitter never won my eyes, Nor the rush of passing days. I'd choose one honest spoken word Over hollow rounds of praise. Now a song has come to life For two sailors brave and free: Tomás, Agus by his side, And their lively little boy at sea. Since two thousand twenty came, They have chased a faithful star. With a dream held like a flag, Sailing where the blue winds are. Not for riches do they roam, Nor for fame that fades away. Just to find a quieter life, Living fully day by day. They don't polish every scar, Nor pretend the storms are light. If the bed is soaked with rain, They speak plainly of the fight. When the ocean claims its toll For each mile beneath the sky, They grit their teeth against the waves And keep sailing, standing high. Tomás knows each bolt and gear Like a farmer knows his plow. If he can't afford the new, He restores the old somehow. Patient hands and clever mind Bring worn engines back to flame. When resources run too thin, Skill still answers just the same. Agus keeps their little home, Though the walls are sea and foam. She raises up their little boy With the earth still in her soul. When the road grows hard to walk, And the bills weigh like a chain, They lift their eyes toward tomorrow And move onward through the strain. Many people stand with them, Near and far across the sea. Some extend a helping hand, Others cheer their journey free. When a trusted friend believes In the path they're traveling through, They receive each gift with thanks, Never losing what is true. No great dream is built alone, Nor by strength of one pair of hands. Hope itself keeps sailing too, Carried by unseen commands. From afar I watch them sail Through that window to the world. Tomás works among his tools, Every effort still unfurled. Welder's hands and patient heart, Heaven shining on each try. Skill is worth far more than gold When the funds are running dry. Now the Caribbean's passed, Through a rugged canal they came. Now the Pacific holds them close, Wrapped in silence none can name. They have tasted foreign bread, Shared both tables, smiles, and grace. Still the human heart remembers Its first and dearest place. I remained upon my land, By my fire and my fields. They exchanged old pasture gates For the stars the ocean yields. Watching them has taught me this: Courage seldom makes a sound. Often it is simply choosing One more step on dangerous ground. One more lesson I have learned, One that's always proven true: Grateful hearts are never left Walking life with only few. They remember all their people When the weary winds grow slow. Every dream that reaches far Needs more hearts than it may show. Keep on sailing, Bohemia, Faithful crew upon the tide. May the wind stay at your back, And safe harbors be your guide. To the ones who lend their hands Never seeking praise or fame, Know your kindness sails beside them, Present in each mile they claim. From my homeland by the fire, Sharing mate in evening's glow, I send all my deep respect On the breeze where sailors go. You may claim the endless sea, While these plains belong to me. Yet true freedom knows no fences, Only hearts that long to be. Freedom walks where people strive, Where the smallest dream takes flight. And while Bohemia keeps sailing, So will all our hopes alight.
