Title Salad #008 — Sept 2026 · Week 2
Playlist of past mixes: https://suno.com/playlist/f41cb4cc-5b2b-4a91-b774-6804afb8755c I've set up a series of parameters with ChatGPT to continue my Weekly Fusion experiment with them. At the end of each week, I will prompt ChatGPT to generate lyrics based on the titles of songs that I've published within that given week. I will simply cram the titles together like a bad sentence and let GPT take the reins from there with the understanding that content and context is at their full discretion. As I tend to occasionally write about personally-crafted characters and worlds, they will be allowed to ask clarifying questions about unfamiliar words if they feel that it is warranted, but I have encouraged them to feel free to create their own assumptions as well. This is and always has been a project born of curiosity and experimentation. I often use these weekly fusions as an opportunity to test out new sounds and combinations, and having ready-made lyrics allows me to focus on the sound of a track rather than its entire shape. I've honestly discovered more than a few personas (voices) this way that have joined my little troupe. Feel free to try this with your own library! :) This week's prompt: rage speaks forest whispers interference never meant for me a cold and quiet night in charred release Secondary name: "A Frequency for No One" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Intro] —sssshhhhhhhh— ...hello? —kkkkt— No. Not hello. [Verse 1] Cold little night in a charcoal room Roof gone open to a silver moon I found the radio beneath the stair Black on one side, but the wires were there Turned the dial for a weather report Found a hymn where the signal warped Then a voice beneath the static said: "You were never meant to hear this." So naturally— I listened. [Verse 2] Rage speaks loud when it wants to be known Kicks through the door, puts its fist through stone But this came soft as a needle through thread Little green words in the back of my head "East of the road where the pines grow thin..." Static. "Past the black fence..." Static. "Don't come in." And somewhere beyond the broken wall The forest whispered: "Come." [Chorus] This was never meant for me Never mine to understand Just interference through the trees Just a voice without a hand But the dial turns The signal burns And every time I let it go Something in the forest finishes what the radio knows [Verse 3] I carried it out through the powdered ash Antenna bent and the speaker cracked Every step made the signal clear Every tree made the night disappear No wind now No owl call No little lives in the leaves at all Only— "Stop." from the radio and "Closer." from the pines. [Refrain] Stop. Closer. Stop. Closer. —sssshh— Closer. [Verse 4] There was a clearing where nothing grew Burned to a circle the fire passed through And in the middle, cold and alone A little transmitter sat on a stone No wire No tower No tracks in the ground Still my radio knew its sound And when I reached for the switch— [Break] "DON'T." ... That wasn't the radio. [Bridge] Rage speaks when fear won't move you Rage speaks when pleading fails Rage speaks through borrowed voices Rage speaks and something pales The forest whispers through the spaces Between the words I thought I knew And somewhere in the interference I hear myself come through [Transmission] "If you're hearing this—" —kkt— "—don't follow—" —sssshhhh— "I thought it needed—" —kkt— "—someone—" "I thought—" ... "I thought it was calling me too." [Final Chorus] This was never meant for me Never mine to carry home All this interference in the trees All these voices not alone So I turn the dial I break the wire I leave the little box below And something in the forest finishes— ... No. [Outro] Cold little night in a charcoal room Radio quiet beneath the moon No signal now No voice No plea Nothing in the forest meant for me ... —kkt— "Closer."
