[Intro] Yeah... First Kings, let's go... From David to division, from wisdom to rebellion, Watch the kingdom rise and fall. [Verse 1] David grew old, now the throne's on the line, Adonijah schemin', thinkin' it's his time. But God had a plan, Solomon would reign, Crowned by the prophet, now he's breakin' every chain. Young king prayed, "Lord, give me wisdom," Didn't ask for riches, didn't ask for a kingdom. God said, "Because your heart seeks what's right, I'll give you wisdom and wealth in your life." Two women came with a baby and a claim, Solomon discerned, brought truth to the game. Israel stood amazed at the judgment he made, God's wisdom on display, no counterfeit shade. [Chorus] Kings rise, kings fall, hear the prophets call, If you follow God, you'll stand, if not, you'll lose it all. Fire from heaven, idols gotta fall, First Kings tells the story, God is over all. [Verse 2] Temple went up on Mount Zion's height, Gold in the chambers, glory shinin' bright. Priests couldn't stand when the presence came down, Cloud filled the house while they worshiped around. But Solomon's heart started driftin' away, Foreign gods and altars led his feet astray. The kingdom stayed strong, but the cracks were deep, What you sow in secret, eventually you reap. God raised up foes, spoke judgment ahead, "After you're gone, the kingdom will be split," He said. Rehoboam came, but he wouldn't hear, Answered harshly, ruled through pride and fear. [Chorus] Kings rise, kings fall, hear the prophets call, If you follow God, you'll stand, if not, you'll lose it all. Fire from heaven, idols gotta fall, First Kings tells the story, God is over all. [Verse 3] Ten tribes left and Jeroboam led, Golden calves at Bethel turned the people's heads. Prophets kept warnin', but the kings stayed blind, Leavin' God's covenant further behind. Then Elijah stepped into the scene with power, Declared no rain for many months and hours. Fed by ravens at the brook each day, God sustained His servant every step of the way. Widow's oil lasted, her flour stayed full, Then her son was raised by the prophet faithful. God was showin' Israel who truly reigns, Not Baal, not idols, not man-made names. [Bridge] Mount Carmel showdown, gather every tribe, Four hundred fifty prophets, now it's time to decide. They cried all day, but their god stayed still, No answer from heaven, no display of will. Elijah prayed once, didn't need a show, Fire fell from heaven, everybody knew. Burned up the sacrifice, water and stones, "The Lord, He is God!" echoed through the homes. [Verse 4] Jezebel threatened, Elijah ran, Yet God met him gently with a sovereign plan. Not in the earthquake, not in the fire's roar, But a still small voice that spoke once more. Ahab chased vineyards, coveted Naboth's land, Jezebel conspired with a murderous hand. The prophet declared God's judgment would come, No king can escape what the Lord has done. Ahab fell in battle just as God had said, An arrow found its mark and the king lay dead. The book closes out with a warning clear: Fear the Lord alone and keep Him near. [Final Chorus] Kings rise, kings fall, hear the prophets call, The Lord rules forever, He's the King of all. Wisdom, fire, judgment, mercy through it all, First Kings points us to the One who'll never fall. [Outro] From Solomon's throne to Elijah's flame, History changes, but God stays the same. Earthly kingdoms fade, every crown will rust, But the Lord reigns forever—put your hope and trust.
