Lord, My Heart Is Not Haughty (words adapted from Psalm 131:1-3) ©️ 1978 Michael Ledner
[speaking] So many high and lofty things we can get involved in. David, in Psalm 131 realized that. He said, “I’m gonna swim in my own. lane…basically…I’m just gonna just gonna be content in what God gave me and not involve myself in things too - too high and lofty for me and I’m learning that too - to swim in my lane. and he said: [singing] Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor are my eyes lofty, and I do not exercise myself in great matters or in things too wonderful for me. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself like a child that is weaned from its mother… mmmmmm…. My soul is even as a weaned child. Let Israel hope in the Lord, from this time forth and even forevermore. Let Israel hope in the Lord, from this time forth and even forever more… Forever more.
