NO WATCH TONIGHT - African Polyphonics - 1a

V6-WILD

[INSTRUMENTAL — NO WORDS AT ANY POINT. NOTHING IS EVER STRUCK.] [ALPHA — ten per second] [Low pad swells up from nothing, no attack, DRONEFX] [DIDGERIDOO ENTERS UNDERNEATH, CIRCULAR BREATHING, NO SEAM, DIDGEFX] [Wordless voices enter one at a time, low, overlapping, soft yodelling on open vowels] [Rainstick drifting slowly across the stereo field] [SIX per second] [Pad swells to mark the change. No strike] [Voices spread further apart, hocketing, chest to falsetto, never landing together] [Treble rolls off. Register drops] [FOUR per second] [Didgeridoo waves get longer and deeper] [Voices thin to three, then two, yodelled leaps getting smaller and softer] [Everything darker, wider, slower] [TWO per second — delta] [One low voice left, no more leaps, humming, very far back] [Sub-bass swell, felt rather than heard, SUBFX] [ONE per second] [Only the didgeridoo drone and one deep pad remain] [The pulse is barely there] [Drone alone for a long time, unchanging] [Pads dissolve one at a time] [Didgeridoo breath gets slower and quieter until it is gone] [Nothing returns. No final sound.] Presented by White Bushman
