Something We Haven't Tried

Everyone says there’s a way things go a step we take a song we know a sleeve falls here a hand turns there the same old melody fills the air But last night I heard something else I dreamed a rhythm I’d never learned a little wrong at every turn I moved too soon I stayed too long and somehow all the mistakes became the song Maybe different isn’t wrong Maybe strange just needs a song What if we turn when they say stand still? What if we dance where nobody will? What if the thing we’re frightened to try is only waiting for someone to try? Come with me one step outside [Male: outside] there might be a world on the other side Nothing new ever learned to fly by doing what we’ve already tried [Robot: tried-tried-tried] Come with me don’t ask me why sometimes you jump before you decide Maybe the future is waiting tonight inside something we haven’t tried You don’t have to lose what you know to give an old melody somewhere new to go [Male: somewhere new to go] Keep the line change the floor keep the heart and open the door That’s all I dreamed [Male: all you dreamed] That’s all this is something old learning something new Come with me one step outside there might be a world on the other side Nothing new ever learned to fly by doing what we’ve already tried Come with me don’t ask me why sometimes you jump before you decide Maybe the future is waiting tonight inside something we haven’t tried we hadn’t tried [Male: tried] [Robot: tried-tried] [Stop.]
