4/5/2025 The outpouring of support and encouragement from all that have listened to this song really sped up my wanting to create a saga within this musical universe. I have created 2 prequel songs. Part 1, "The Fading of Elara" which tells the story of the Temporal Engineer and the love of his life, Elara and the tragedy that happens lays the groundwork for part 2, "The Seeds of Temporal Obsession" which inevitably leads the Temporal Engineer to create "The Chronophage Engine", which is this song and is part 3 of the saga. Part 4, "Echoes of the Sundered Now" picks up where this song leaves off, culminating in part 5, "The Temporal Weaver" and leads to the end of this saga. I hope you like all 5 parts as they were a lot of fun to make. I had this idea floating around in my head for a very long time but was just not sure how to do it. As anyone who has listened to any of my creations on Suno knows, I like Djent. I REALLY like Djent. I absolutely LOVE Djent. Anyway, you get the picture. I wanted to do a Djent song that wasn't just "heavy" or "extreme" in sound, but one that is far more melodic, and more of a Jazzy/Bluesy kind of "heavy" sound, if that makes any sense. After a lot of trial and error, and burning through a ton of Suno credits😂😂, The Chronophage Engine is the end result. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I absolutely love it. And yes, it's total runtime is just under 10 and a half minutes. So, I understand if long songs like these aren't your thing. I totally get it. But for those of you who stick around and listen to it from start to finish, I am eternally grateful! [Refrain 1] Oh, time, it whispers secrets, in its fractured flow, Of ancient, hungry currents, where destinies will go. [Pre-Chorus 1] He dreams of bending timelines, of rewriting what has been, To reach the temporal core, where realities convene. He charts the paradoxes, on screens of fractured light, Ignoring the warnings, that this endeavor lacks all right. You seek the hidden juncture, where timelines twist and bend, But what you find beyond it, will bring your era's end. [Verse 2] The crew, a broken remnant, their memories worn and thin, They follow his directives, though madness dwells within. Of visions in the time-stream, of eyes that pierce the age, Of entities awakened, within the temporal cage. The core hums a death knell, a warning in its strain, As causality unravels, and futures are in pain. [Refrain 2] The moments shift and shudder, in a dark and twisted dance, A temporal, silent warning, a fleeting, dying chance. [Pre-Chorus 2] He deciphers coded chronons, they flicker on the screen, A language of destruction, a horrifying scene. He pushes the controls, with trembling, fevered might, Unleashing the anomalies, into the endless night. [Chorus 2] Chronophage Engine, your folly echoes through the years, A symphony of chaos, where logic disappears. The portals start to open, a swirling, fractured tear, And what emerges from it, will drown you in your fear. [Verse 3] The ship, a dying relic, caught in the temporal snare, As tendrils reach from futures, and pierce the stagnant air. He sees the ancient faces, in echoes of the past, The guardians of the timelines, where all illusions cast. He knows his quest is shattered, his vision turned to dust, As time's relentless currents, consume all that he trusts. [Refrain 3] The echoes lengthen, growing, in the timeless, empty space, Consuming all that's living, leaving just a trace. [Pre-Chorus 3] He screams into the vortex, a sound that fades away, As ancient, hungry shadows, begin to claim their prey. The truth is now revealed, in blinding, searing light, He's not the architect, but just a pawn of endless night. [Chorus 3] Chronophage Engine, your hubris sealed your final fate, Consumed by the abyss, beyond the temporal gate. The guardians now awaken, their hunger knows no end, And through the fractured timelines, their darkness will extend. [Outro-Extended] The ages themselves are screaming, as entropy takes hold, The fabric of existence, is shattered, bought and sold. No future can be salvaged, no past can be reclaimed, Only the endless echo, of time forever maimed. The Engine stands, a monument, to what could never be, A silent, chilling witness, to all eternity. The timelines break and shatter, consuming all that's there, A final, cold dominion, of temporal despair. The echoes grow to thunder, a chorus from the void, "Your journey ends in nothing, where time is all destroyed..."
