AM I ENOUGH? [Intro — Spoken, emotional] (breathing…) Am I enough for you? Do you really see me for the rest of your days? Or are you settling… Because we been through the storms and we made it? (But listen…) Just because we went through these storms don’t mean we meant to stay broken. [Verse 1] I went to God, I talked to Him, I keep crying and thinking over and over , I ain’t look at another, I gave you my heart, I gave you my fears. (You hear me?) But Mr. Man found the need to be honest, just when I thought I could let my guard down, I see that I can’t. Now I gotta go back to that insecure girl I fought so hard to leave behind. Can’t stop crying… wondering what’s going on in your mind. [Pre-Chorus] Could’ve kept that information to yourself, ‘cause now you put a crack in everything I felt. I thought your arms were where I could finally rest, now I’m questioning if I was ever enough at my best. (Tell me…) Am I what you want? Am I what you need? Or am I just somebody you got comfortable keeping? [Chorus] I know I’m a good woman, I know what I bring, but somehow it still won’t be enough. (How?) How can I give you my whole heart and still feel like I’m losing ? I’d rather be alone than feel like I don’t belong. If the value is gone… then so am I. (God…) What am I even here for? [Verse 2 — Frustrated storytelling] Back in the days, it didn’t feel like this. You looked at me different. I felt loved in your kiss. Now the marriage feels weird, make and I’m scared to even ask why. We sleeping next to each other but somehow I feel alone at night. I keep replaying every conversation, every little thing you said. Trying to figure out when we went from lovers to two people sharing a bed. (Damn…) I don’t want another man. I wanted you. That’s what makes this hurt so bad. I stayed through the storms. I stayed when it was hard. I stayed when life tested us and tore us apart. But staying through the storm doesn’t mean I gotta drown in it. [Bridge — Soul-crushing, prayerful] God, please… I need You. ‘Cause I’m tired of pretending I’m okay. I’m tired of wiping my tears before you walk through the door. I’m tired of asking myself what she had that I don’t. What I didn’t give. What I could’ve done. (Lord, help me…) I don’t want to become that insecure girl again. I fought too hard to love myself. I fought too hard to become this woman. And now I’m standing here wondering if the man I chose still chooses me. [Final Chorus — Bigger emotion] Am I enough for you? Do you see me for the rest of your days? Or are you just settling because we’ve already made it through the storms? (Tell me the truth…) I’m a good woman. I know I am. But if I have to beg you to see my value, maybe the value ain’t gone… Maybe you just stopped looking. I’d rather be alone than live beside somebody and still feel like I don’t belong. If the value is gone… then so am I. (God…) What am I even here for? [Outro — Spoken, crying but strong] God, please… I don’t need You to make him love me. I need You to remind me that I’m still worth loving even if he doesn’t. (deep breath) ‘Cause I know I’m a good woman. And I refuse to lose myself trying to convince somebody else of my value.
