[intro piano sung to the end] What Shalom Means, Plain and Simple Shalom is larger than “peace.” It is life set in its right place, under the Creators order, as it was meant to stand. Think of it as the good ground where a people can take root: One - WHOLE Shalom means nothing is missing that ought to be there — body, mind, and spirit. No one is pushed aside, stripped down, or left to bear the load alone. Two - FAIR People deal straight with one another. They keep their word. They lift, not exploit. They do not grind each other down. When one is raised up, the others aren't pulled under. Three - SAFE Homes can breathe. Neighbors can rest. Children can sleep, and men and women can move through the day without fear standing at the gate. Four - LOYAL People hold their place for one another. They keep watch over each other. They move with steadiness and care, not greed or wandering. What It All Means Shalom is what comes when people walk in loyalty, mercy, and shared duty. It is not a passing feeling — it is the shape of covenant life when people are safe, whole, and able to trust. It stands against the way of Mammon. It is the ordered life that makes a people fully human before the Creator. Shalom as a Covenant Setup One - PARTIES Shalom names a covenant between: The Sovereign — Our Father above the Skies (Elohim) The Representatives — humans who choose to walk with Him The Community — those who live under the covenant’s terms This means Shalom is not optional. It is the ordered life that begins when humans take their place before the covenant Lord. Two - DUTIES Shalom stands only when each side keeps its charge. Human Obligations • Guard the well-being. • Keep faith. • Make homes steady. • Remain loyal. These are not gentle hints — they are binding commands. Divine Obligations • Give enough for all. • Uphold justice and order. • Dwell with the covenant people. Three -RESULTS When the charges are kept, Shalom bears clear fruit: Wholeness Life is held together and not torn apart. Health People flourish in body, mind, and community. Harmony Relationships stand without abuse or taking advantage. Security Homes and neighborhoods are safe and at rest. Loyalty People protect and support one another. These are the marks of a covenant kept. Four - BREACHES Shalom is broken when the covenant is broken: • Exploitation • Violence • Neglect • Betrayal • Hoarding resources • Leaving the vulnerable behind These are not small faults. They are covenant treachery, and they cut through Shalom like an AXE through a beam. Five REPAIR Shalom is guarded through repentance before it is guarded through repair. Turn back from the theft. Put away the hard hand. Stop covering neglect with fine words. Confess what you have done. Return what was taken. Make straight what you bent. Let the one who has sinned come low, and let the one who has been wronged be heard. THEN Mutual accountability — members call one another back to faithfulness. Community justice — setting what is wrong back on its feet. Restitution — giving back what was taken and mending what was harmed. Reconciliation — restoring covenant bonds so they can stand again. This is how Shalom is held in place as a living order. Six - The Core Principle Shalom is the legally defined social reality that stands when humans keep their covenant duties to the Creator and to each other. [outro strings fade] It is not a mood. It is not a feeling. It is the sworn order that holds a community together through loyalty, justice, and care.
