11) BROADCAST #001.3 - "The Crater Breathes in Red"

V5

[spoken] Helloooo survivors, stragglers, and doom-drunk romantics tuning into The Last Signal Radio, where the static has teeth and the sky still owes us rent! I’m broadcasting from what USED to be the east highway… now it’s just the rim of THAT THING. The hole. The wound. The Crater That Ate the Map. You remember how the horizon used to be flat-ish? Welp, not anymore. The ground split open like it got fed up holding secrets, and now there’s a dish the size of a dead god’s ribcage right where the suburbs used to be. Asphalt peeled back like skin, trees bent inward like they’re bowing to something loud and awake And the air down there hums. It hums like a choir of microwaves and trapped hornets. Saw some nomads get too close. Five of ’em. Only two came back up— one without eyes and the other without a voice. They kept pointing at the pit like it was talking back. Saw machines moving down there last night too— ones we didn’t build. Looked like excavators made of bone and radio towers melted into spider legs. One of ’em was dragging a bus. The bus was screaming. And every night around the same hour, the smoke that comes out of it changes color. Black, then blue, then that red… the kind that dries into scabs on the clouds. People say the crater’s not just a hole— it’s a throat. And everything we lost is crawling back up it with new names. So while the world leans in to listen to that breathing dirt, we’re kicking off the next track— a slow grind to match the pulse from below. Here it comes, dripping tar and prophecy: ‘The Crater Breathes in Red.’ If the ground starts shaking, don’t run— just scream rhythmically so we can sample it for the outro. Thanks in advance for that.
