Is a liar worthy of basking in the sunset? Should a cheater delight in the sound of rain? An unfaithful man relishing bewildering vistas can the reckless one truly hear Chopin and breathe? Walking the streets, my head cracking wild, endlessly wrestling thoughts within my skull. Reasoning what should be taken for granted, clogging the pure and simple laws of life. Is it too late to turn it all around, just once? Isn’t it closer to the end than to the beginning? Is it still worth stopping and fighting for what was mine: the world, the love, the life, us, you, me? Or else let it go, close the book, cut the string, watch it fall. No regrets, no morals, no abiding rules, just me-me-me. See how everything falls down, down the drain, picturing it all as if it had already been done. I can’t forget that look, that touch, that whisper. Still feel that kiss, that cuddle, that soft murmur in my ear. The cat racing from me to you, chasing the toy we once threw. Your scent when I curl up at night, your hand resting there. All gone? All wasted? Everything to erase, to freeze: unsorted rubbish, mixed waste, non-recyclable. Getting that "greener" ghost-life on the other side... I could also stop, take a deep breath, and fight. Or wait for that ten-ton truck crashing through me. The third, the ultimate solution.
