# ELYRA – I REMEMBER LOVING YOU [Intro – Piano • distant bells • female humming] Elyra... Kael... Beneath the silver lantern trees, where pale white flowers grew, two hearts had found a quiet place and dreamed their love was true. Then war took Kael away... and brought a stranger home. [Verse 1 – Piano • cello] The Hollow King had touched his mind and stolen all he knew. His home, his name, his memories, and soon Elyra too. But she possessed forgotten arts, old magic feared by all: A memory freely sacrificed could make another whole. And so she paid the price. [Chorus I – Huge female choir] KAEL! KAEL! Remember your name! KAEL! KAEL! Come back again! She gave their kisses, their nights beneath the trees. KAEL! KAEL! Return to Elyra... before she loses every memory. [Verse 2 – Dark strings • heartbeat] With every memory Elyra gave, a part of Kael returned. He found his home, his mother's face, the life he'd once forgotten. But as his past grew whole again, her own began to fade. Until his face became a stranger... and only one thing stayed. His name. Kael. [Chorus II – Choir fading] KAEL! KAEL! Remember again! Kael... Kael... His name begins to fade. She knows that she must save him... but no longer knows why. Kael... Kael... One memory remains. [Verse 3 – Sparse piano] She gave his name. And Kael remembered everything. Their first kiss. The lantern trees. Elyra. But she remembered none. The man she'd sacrificed her whole past to restore... stood alive before her. A stranger. [Chorus III – Massive reversal] ELYRA! ELYRA! Remember his name! ELYRA! ELYRA! Find him again! Kael returned with every memory. She gave them all away. ELYRA! ELYRA! Her mind had forgotten... but her heart still chose to stay. [Verse 4 – Warm, sorrowful] So Kael wrote their story in a little book by hand. Each morning she would read a life she couldn't understand. Some days she left him. Some days she stayed. Sometimes beneath the lantern trees she chose him once again. But every morning... she forgot. [Bridge – Solo piano] Years passed. Kael grew old. Elyra barely changed. Until one winter took him, and only the book remained. She could not remember losing him. She could not remember why. Yet when she read his name again... she began to cry. [Final Chorus – Huge female choir] ELYRA! ELYRA! Why does your heart still know? ELYRA! ELYRA! Where did the memories go? No first kiss. No lantern trees. No promises remained. Yet tears still fell when Elyra read that stranger's name. [Outro – Piano • pages turning] Upon the final page he wrote: "If you don't remember me, don't be sad. I remembered enough for both of us." She turned back to the beginning. "My name is Kael." Kael... No memory returned. Only tears. [Female choir – distant] Kael... Elyra... [Female bard – whisper] She could not remember him... but somehow... she remembered loving him.
