[Verse 1] They took Shad first Hand and foot in chains Pushed him down the hall Meshach volunteered himself With Stretched out wrist They cuffed him standing tall I was much too scared To see them go Before me towards the flame My heartbeat pounds In the back of my throat As I call upon Your name. [Pre-Chorus] Soldiers on each shoulder In a fast slowdown of time I see the furnace getting closer Be with me, God of mine!!! [Chorus] Father I meant it when I wouldn’t bow. But I’m scared and I need you now. I’ll die for you, if you ask it of me But let me die in honor and dignity. For your sake, Lord, let me walk in tall And let them see that You command it all. God of Heaven, blessed be your name and be with me in this flame. [Verse 2] A blinding light And intense heat A true inferno cell Shoulders felt lighter And I could feel their hands I think one or both of them fell I felt a jab in my back That made me fall in I couldn’t see, but I felt a hand Grab me by the arm And picked me up off of my knees And graciously helped me stand. [Pre-Chorus] I shy my sinful self away From the glory of your face. Lord, my God, oh Holy One Perfected love, with your embrace [Chorus] Father I meant it when I wouldn’t bow. But I’m scared and I need you now. I’ll die for you, if you ask it of me But let me die in honor and dignity. For your sake, Lord, let me walk in tall And let them see that You command it all. God of Heaven, blessed be your name and be with me in this flame. [Bridge] I can’t believe! You’re here with me! Walking here with us! How could I ever be? Be more free?! I feel the fire of your love. [Outro- Fade out] Father I meant it when I wouldn’t bow. But I’m scared and I need you now. I’ll die for you, if you ask it of me But let me die in honor and dignity. For your sake, Lord, let me walk in tall And let them see that You command it all. God of Heaven, blessed be your name and be with me in this flame.
