[Verse 1] Hunter stared down at her breakfast. It looked delicious, but she wasn't hungry. The entire crew was present, somber, but she didn't want to know what was in their minds. Spook and Jaimey sat together, actually with her, neither one had said a word. [Verse 2] "So many people," she said quietly, "I just don't get it." "Someone was serious," Jaimey ventured, "about taking out our potato-chip passengers." "God, that's just like those pirates," Hunter clenched her fists, "they killed almost a hundred of us just to use us as bait." As she dropped her head, a tear rolled down— the first time she had cried since the hospital. [Chorus] Coming clean in the cold ship’s light, truth and ghosts in the middle of the night. Too many secrets, too much pain, but I’m still here, I’ll rise again. If I shake, if I scream, this is me, this is coming clean. [Verse 3] Spook and Jaimey exchanged a guilty glance. "The Loki," they both thought to themselves. Hunter heard it, she couldn't help it— they thought it loud enough to be a scream. "What about the Loki," she said quiet, and watched the shock wash across their eyes. [Verse 4] "I've got to come clean," she said, "I'm kind of sensitive. I can hear your thoughts when you're talking to yourself." "That explains a lot," Spook responded, "I was wondering how you answered questions so quick." Dave looked up from the corner, but said nothing. Then he went back to his meal like nothing was said. [Verse 5] Hunter explained how her talent worked, let them know she couldn't just read their secrets. "Well about the Loki," Spook volunteered, "we're intimately familiar. You could say we've had first hand experience." Hunter just stared. She didn't know what to say. [Chorus] Coming clean in the cold ship’s light, truth and ghosts in the middle of the night. Too many secrets, too much pain, but I’m still here, I’ll rise again. If I shake, if I scream, this is me, this is coming clean. [Verse 6] "In spite of everything you've heard, the ship was never destroyed." "It's still out there?" Hunter panicked, "It got away?" "Not quite," Jaimey reached across the table, put a calming hand on top of hers. "It was stolen. Inside job." By now everyone was looking, to see what was going to happen. [Verse 7] "Time for us to come clean too," Spook said as Peter, who was their leader, stepped up. "It was a masterful operation," he said, watching the color wash from Hunter's face, "took nearly a year to plan." Hunter sat in shock, "This is..." [Verse 8] "No," Peter said flatly, "The Loki died in the scrapyard, but hull and the hardware were reborn. We're NOT a pirate vessel, we don't steal, and we don't attack. Hunter, I know this is a lot. If it's too much I can understand. I won't force you to stay with us." [Verse 9] Hunter looked across their faces, each one tense, unsure. She should think long and hard about it. About what she'd already endured. Then she thought about the seven that they had brought back from the brink. [Chorus] Coming clean in the cold ship’s light, truth and ghosts in the middle of the night. Too many secrets, too much pain, but I’m still here, I’ll rise again. If I shake, if I scream, this is me, this is coming clean. [Outro] "I'm staying on," she said and smiled, "but I think I need a drink."
