**[Verse 1]** Don’t look away, I caught you staring Caught that little hitch in your breath You keep pretending you’re not daring Me to find out what happens next Come a little closer, sweetheart There’s no audience tonight Leave your good sense at the doorway I’ve got better plans in mind **[Pre-Chorus]** You can call it bad judgment You can call it gasoline But you’re standing near the fire Like you want to make a scene **[Chorus]** So strike the match See what catches Put your hands where temptation asks it I don’t need forever I just need you hear Strike the match Let it happen You’ve been biting back that reaction Come ruin your reputation Whisper it in my ear If you’re gonna play with fire Darlin’, make it worth the burn **[Verse 2]** You wear restraint like decoration Pretty thing, but it won’t last Every careful little hesitation Gets less convincing when I laugh I know exactly what you’re doing Every step back pulls me in You keep drawing up the boundary Then smiling when I cross again **[Pre-Chorus]** Maybe I’m a bad decision Maybe you already knew Maybe all that heat between us Is just waiting on a fuse **[Chorus]** So strike the match See what catches Put your hands where temptation asks it I don’t need forever I just need you here Strike the match Let it happen You’ve been biting back that reaction Come ruin your reputation Whisper it in my ear If you’re gonna play with fire Darlin’, make it worth the burn **[Bridge]** Tell me no, I’ll take you serious Tell me yes, I won’t waste time But don’t stand there looking curious With that trouble in your eyes I can behave if you require it I can leave if that’s your turn But if you say, “Devlin, light it” Baby, watch me burn **[Final Chorus]** Strike the match No more acting I can feel the whole room cracking Every inch between us Disappearing fast Strike the match Let me have it That dangerous little attraction You can blame me in the morning If tonight is built to last If you’re gonna play with fire Come and learn the way I burn **[Outro]** Come closer, sweetheart You started this Strike the match.
