My sincerest thanks to my travel companion @unlimitless who agreed to lend his image and share his words. No journey is safe without a good ingeneer in Poetry, and he is undoubtedly the best of them all. Book II — Chapter XIII: wherein SCARLETT SARAH and the dwindling square of last resistants hold fast amid the wreckage of the Port of Wonders, awaiting the final assault of the soldiers of the Dark House; and wherein, though exhaustion and loss weigh heavy and surrender is refused unto the last breath, a long-hoped-for reinforcement at last reveals itself through smoke and fire, rekindling resolve where despair had nearly claimed dominion, and setting the stage for a turning of fate yet unwritten… [INTRO] [VERSE] I’m just a pirate, just a thief, I never kept what I stole to keep. I’ve been hunting, now I’m the prey, Like a cornered beast, pushed away. I followed that long blue line, Kept my head up, crossed the time. Where Horizon lives, Right in front of the sun. In front of us, the wolves in packs, Jaws wide open, Waiting on the call, Or howling out the feast-time hour. [BRIDGE] Still, I hear the church bells ring. At dawn’s call, Horizon comes. Then the cannons start to sing, At freedom’s call, Horizon comes. In our hearts, where Horizon lives, In the heat, where Horizon lives. [FINAL VERSE] Halali! Hear the hounds cry out. If I die, I’ll die standing tall, Singing loud, weapon in hand. I won’t ever give up hope Of tearing that dark house down, Of driving out its shadows. [FADE OUTRO] But Horizon’s there, out in the light, And I cry these tears of joy. I smile to see my brother again, Horizon lives in me, in my pr [ Fade Outro ] [ Reggae bass line at a steady tempo ] [ a Jamaican singer featuring a warm bass voice, clear voice with Jamaican accent. ] [ singer in duo with a Jamaican singer featuring a warm bass voice, clear voice with Jamaican accent. ] [ rhythmic bass line that brings a freedom feeling.
