Words From The Book Of Job

Verse 1: My life is like the wind My days are but a breath Could my grief be weighed and measured Against the shadowed threat of death My eyes grow tired from weeping My heart forgets its song I’m frighten with restless dreaming And visions through the night so long Verse 2: Who shapes the clouds with wisdom And spreads the heavens wide Who speaks and all of creation trembles And who calls the stars by name God is great beyond all knowing Upon the earth there is none like Him Stand and see what His hand created Golden splendor wrapped in His presence Chorus: The Lord gave and the Lord has taken Blessed be His name Through joy and sorrow, loss and mercy His sovereignty remains We accept the good he offers And trust him just the same The Lord gives life, the Lord restores it Blessed be his name Verse 3: God is wise in heart and power Mighty are His deeds Wonders without end surround us Beyond our thoughts and needs His hands bring healing to the broken The lowly He lifts up high Those who mourn are held in safety Beneath His watchful eye Bridge: Once more You fill me with laughter Once more You lift my head The darkest night cannot extinguish The words Your mercy gave to me Life and love You have granted Hope that will not fade By Your light I walk through darkness Unafraid, unafraid The Lord gave and the Lord has taken Blessed be His name Through joy and sorrow, loss and mercy His sovereignty remains We accept the good he offers And trust him just the same The Lord gives life, the Lord restores it Blessed be his name Outro: Delight your soul within the Almighty Trust the unseen hand He sees all things beneath His Heaven All life is at His command
