XENO1N | Chapter II After the First Officer put the Captain in hypersleep again, she discovers a strange signal on her instruments. It could be a distress signal, someone drifting helpless in space. Should she alter the course, diviate from the original route and see what is out there? What will she find? And should she inform the Captain about this? Last argument about the crew was not a pleasant conversation... ---------- THE SIGNAL (a space rock opera) Lyrics by MIIKA (c) Oct 2026 Story idea and writing by MIIKA (c) Sept 2026 >> Check out the playlist for the other songs of this project << ---------- [PART I: THE DECISION] I hear a voice Calling through the night A signal from the dark A distant light The crew is sleeping The ship moves on We have a destination We can't go wrong But something's calling From far away A voice in the static Won't fade away Is it a warning? Is it a cry? Is there someone out there Lost in the night? Should I turn? Should I stay? Should I risk it all And leave the way? Who is calling? Who is there? Why do I feel Like I've been here? I change the course I leave the path The stars are fading Behind my back The signal's stronger The closer I get But something about it Feels like regret I hear a voice Inside the sound A voice I know But can't pin down Should I turn? Should I stay? Should I risk it all And leave the way? Who is calling? Who is there? Why do I feel Like I've been here? [PART II: THE DISCOVERY] I see a ship Out in the black Same name. Same lights. No, no no.... And then I hear The voice again... MY VOICE!!! [guitar solo] I am the signal! I am the call! I am the shadow Behind it all! I thought I was searching For someone out there... But I was chasing Myself through the years. I know the words I have to say: "If you hear this..." "Don't turn away." The signal fades. The darkness stays. And somewhere in the distance I hear it again. Noooooooo!!!!
