Letter 22 – The Death of John and Questions Concerning Jesus

V6-WILD

[Introduction]: The tragic execution of John the Baptist in the prison of Machaerus, followed by growing questions about the identity and mission of Jesus. • [Verse 1] The prophet's head has fallen upon the silver platter, Offered as a sacrifice to an urgent whim. Silence falls upon the voice of the desert, While the executioner closes his iron. But John's death solves nothing for the king, Who feels the earth tremble beneath his own step. • [Chorus] John is no more, but his voice still echoes, While across the waters dawns the morning light. Who is this man whom they call the Messiah? Hearts grow frantic and life unites.... • [Verse 2] Everywhere people wonder: who is this Galilean, Who heals hearts and reawakens bonds? Is it John risen from the depths of the tomb, Or a new prophet whose strength abounds? Rumors cross the lakes and the mountains, Sowing confusion within the countryside. • [Chorus] John is no more, but his voice still echoes, While across the waters dawns the morning light. Who is this man whom they call the Messiah? Hearts grow frantic and life unites.... • [Verse 3] The martyr's blood nourishes the new seed, And questions flare up in an urgent cadence. Jesus walks ahead, fulfilling his work, Ignoring the fear and the traps laid for him. The death of the one opens the path for the other, In this grand drama that is ours. • [Outro] The silver platter is empty... The question remains eternal... eternal...
