I’m gonna write a purple poem / And offer it to the blue-green wind / As silly as it seems / I’m also gonna dance / And leave a rosy trail of movements. / White grief / Has a strange effect / It makes the memory of you / Black / And everything else / Colorless. / Can I sing for you / A true blue song? / Perhaps it’ll remind you / Of our golden time / Of sparkling silver dreams / That we wasted knowing they’d never last / But all is good, all is fair / ‘Cause we’d paid with our charcoal despair. / What do we do with all these colors? / Smile a blood red smile? / Say a yellow prayer? / Put them on display? / You know they will fade with time / Some remnants of a life might remain / An orange scent of a purple poem.
