She placed an ad to find a brand new spark Met a boy online, a shot into the dark Invited him over, opened up her front door But the second he walked in, he became a total bore He started talking fast about his favorite type of cheese Then switched to ancient history and local honeybees She checked the wall clock, tried to catch his eye He didn't even notice, didn't even try He just kept on rambling 'bout his mother’s old sedan A non-stop talking, highly hyperactive little man She poured some coffee, tried to cut him off mid-phrase He started explaining the galactic solar phase She stood up from the sofa, walked across the floor He said, "That reminds me of a trip to Baltimore!" He talked about his allergies, his calculus exam His second cousin’s wedding and the history of ham Her eyes rolled back, her patience hit the floor Enough with the words, she couldn't take it anymore! He didn't see the hints, didn't notice her despair Just kept lecturing the couch and talking to the air "Time to go!" she said, and grabbed him by his coat He was still explaining how to fix a motorboat She pushed him through the hallway, he was talking about trains And how the cloudy weather always triggers his migraines She showed him to the front door, closed it tight and fast Thinking that the awful verbal avalanche had passed But through the solid wood, his voice was muffled yet so clear He was detailing his budget for the fiscal financial year She stood against the door, heard him fading down the street Still talking to the pavement and the gravel at his feet The silence was a blessing, the apartment finally still She grabbed her leather jacket, she had had her absolute fill She marched down to the local pub to wash away the pain Needing a distraction from the chatter in her brain She slid onto a barstool right beside a handsome guy Who was just looking around and simply catching her eye "Hey there, stranger, do you have a lot to say?" He shook his head slowly and looked the other way Thats perfect and a smile split her face, Grabbed him by the hand and took him to her place At her place they had steaming sex and didn't have much to say, just breathless sighs to wash the stress away. For me no more of this online dating... i have seen enough weirdos, way to frustrating... Just silence... so perfect...
