[Verse] Empty fridge like a desert plain No milk no bread no sugar cane Just green spears standing tall in line Asparagus for dinner yeah we’ll be fine [Prechorus] Who needs steak or fancy stew When all we've got is this green crew [Chorus] Asparagus dreams on a plate tonight We’ll steam it bake it maybe fry it right No ketchup no gravy just salt and steam Dinner’s weird but it’s a lean green dream [Verse 2] I tried to make a soup but it went all wrong Blender broke now it’s mush not strong The stalks are staring like they know my crime But hey we’re surviving one bite at a time [Prechorus] Who needs pizza or a pot of gold When you’ve got greens that never get old [Chorus] Asparagus dreams on a plate tonight We’ll steam it bake it maybe fry it right No ketchup no gravy just salt and steam Dinner’s weird but it’s a lean green dream
