If You Want It (Take the Course)

VERSE 1 — (acoustic guitar, steady pulse) You came to campus with a mission, Chasing letters by your name. Paying money, paying hours, For a future you can claim. You gave up other roads and options, Chose a path you’d walk with pride— ’Cause you know that every lesson Builds a future deep inside. PRE‑CHORUS But why do we think faith is different, Like growth just happens on its own? If you want the life of Jesus— You must study what He’s shown. CHORUS — big, catchy, sing‑along If you want it, you can have it, But you’ve got to take the course. Open up the Book He gave you— Let His truth become your source. There’s a progression He designed you for, A harvest you can’t fake. If you want to know the Savior— Give your heart, your time, your faith. VERSE 2 — (more drive, light percussion) God’s the Teacher, God’s the Tutor, Every step is tailor‑made. There are things you learn from others, There are things you must obey. You can’t plant without the soil, Can’t reap fruit you never sowed. There are habits you must put on, There are idols to let go. PRE‑CHORUS 2 There’s a framework in the Scriptures, Like a mosaic in His hand— Every jewel finds its meaning In the story He has planned. CHORUS — soaring If you want it, you can have it, But you’ve got to take the course. Open up the Book He gave you— Let His truth become your source. There’s a progression He designed you for, A harvest you can’t fake. If you want to know the Savior— Give your heart, your time, your faith. BRIDGE — (Petra‑style spoken/sung intensity) Deny yourself— Take up your cross— Follow Jesus every day. Lose your life— And you will find A better one along the way. Add to faith—virtue, knowledge, Self‑control and patient love. Grow in godliness and kindness— This is how He lifts you up. FINAL CHORUS — big, triumphant If you want it, you can have it, But you’ve got to take the course. Open up the Book He gave you— Let His truth become your source. What you learn here lasts forever— Not just fifty earthly years. He will shape you, He will send you, Till His glory reappears. TAG — soft, invitational If you want it… you can have it. Come and learn with us… right here.
