You Are My Strength! (Psalm 19)
The heavens declare (declare), God’s glorious presence; The firmament shows his craft made bare, his work in the heavens. The heavens declare (declare), God’s glorious presence; The firmament shows his craft made bare, his work in the heavens. Night unto night, shows knowledge to me. There is no speech, nor language of the world, Where their voice cannot with patience be heard. Their line is gone out Through all the earth, To the end of the world. Is their word gone forth. He hath set a tabernacle, them among. He hath set a tabernacle, for the sun. [Solo] Like a bridegroom from his room shows his face, He rejoices like the one who wins the race, The starting line, for his race, is the far end of heaven, and his racetrack, goes from one side to the other edge. He sees everything below him, as one. Nothing hides from the heat of his wisdom and knowledge. The law of the Lord is perfect, The law of the Lord will change the soul: The witness of God is surely set, It makes wise ones out of people who are simple. The statutes of the Lord rejoice the heart, The statutes of the Lord are proper & right, The commandment of the Lord is his work and his art, His commandments are pure, & enlighten the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, rightly so, The fear of the Lord endures forever: His judgments are true like an arrow, And are good & are righteous, all together. They are more precious than finest gold, Yea, better than gold so exceedingly fine. Thy are sweeter as well more than honeycomb, They are more sweet and more pure and divine. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is such great reward. [Solo] [Bridge] Who can understand our foolish errors? Clean from me secret faults forever. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have over me dominion. then shall I be upright, and I innocent From the greatest of our great transgressions. Please, from my mouth, hear the word, And please let my heart’s meditation, Be received in thy sight, O Lord, You are my Redemption. You are my strength! You are my Salvation! Redeemer of my being, and Redeemer of my nation! You are my strength! You are my Salvation! Redeemer of my being, and Redeemer of my nation! [Outro] Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is such great reward. [Bridge] Who can understand our foolish errors? Clean from me secret faults forever.
