On January 31, 2012, in Mountain City, Tennessee, Bill Payne and his wife Billie Jean Hayworth were found dead in their home. Some sources claim they were shot in the head, others say in the face. Payne's throat had been cut several times. Billie Jean was found holding their several-month-old son, Tyler, who was unharmed. Jenelle Potter was a 30-year-old woman with an IQ of 72. She claimed her neighbours were bullying her online and wanted to rape and kill her because they envied her beauty. Her parents, Barbara and Marvin Potter, sheltered her and contributed to her inadequate self-esteem and outlook on life by telling her that her differences made her better than other children. Some Facebook accounts called Billie Jean and her friends "whores" and wished them - and the baby - to die. She flooded the couple with lengthy letters, calls, and threats. Jenelle and her mother followed Billie Jean and threatened her to stop the "bullying campaign." Jenelle also created a fake account impersonating a real person named Chris to manipulate the situation. Jenelle met Jamie Curd, who was head over heels for her. He soon became her secret boyfriend and believed every lie Jenelle and her obviously sick mother told him. Jenelle's father did as well. Eventually, through intricate lies and manipulation, they convinced the two men to kill Bill Payne and Billie Jean Hayworth. Jenelle Potter and Barbara Potter were both pathological liars and manipulative pieces of work. Marvin Potter got 2 life sentences for the murder. Curd got a sentence of 25 years with a chance of parole for being involved. In July 2015, Jenelle and Barbara Potter got 2 life sentences. It's a comedy turned from jealousy and envy into a nightmare.
