I catch your eyes between the smoke and blue, And every moving body disappears but you. You don’t smile, and neither do I, Just a little tilt beneath the flashing lights. I put my drink down, you put down yours, Then we move together through the crowded floor. One step closer, two breaths away, Still no touch but I can feel the change. Keep your eyes on mine, don’t look away, Gods, I like the danger in the space. Eyes on mine while the whole room moves, I don’t know you, but my body does. Your hand finds my hip like it’s been there before, We don’t need names anymore. Half an inch between us disappears, Your fingers brush my waist and pull me near. My hand finds your face, your eyes stay locked, Every little touch says don’t you dare stop. Your hand in my hair, mine around your waist, Breathing close enough that I can almost taste.
