[Verse 1] I found a coin in my coat Shiny and bent at the rim Took it like a sign from above Or maybe just luck on a whim I kept it tight in my palm While the day ran wild and thin Same old train, same old stop But something had shifted within [Pre-Chorus] And I kept turning it over Till it caught the sun Small enough to lose Big enough to run [Chorus] Pocketful of rain Pocketful of rain It hits, then it stays Pocketful of rain You can call it strange I call it mine Pocketful of rain Gets me through the night [Verse 2] You walked in with muddy shoes Carried a laugh like fire Said you never trust blue skies They just dress up desire So I split that coin in two Gave you the brighter side We made a little luck on the floor From a storm we couldn’t hide [Pre-Chorus] And I kept turning it over Till it caught the sun Small enough to lose Big enough to run [Chorus] Pocketful of rain Pocketful of rain It hits, then it stays Pocketful of rain You can call it strange I call it mine Pocketful of rain Gets me through the night [Bridge] If the road goes hard again If the clouds come back to stay I’ll save a little silver For the heavy kind of day [Final Chorus] Pocketful of rain Pocketful of rain It hits, then it stays Pocketful of rain You can call it strange I call it mine Pocketful of rain Gets me through the night
