[intro] [narration – male vocal] A maritime mystery never solved But the story here must be told In ancient seas in the dark of night The skies opened up and began to bite So listen carefully and don’t start yawning For be not mistaken, heed my warning [verse 1] [male vocal] Beyond the horizon and in murky waters The sea took a ship, it’s sons and daughters Signals went out in all directions As cries for help went undetected Storm clouds formed and concealed the moon And the ship went down all too soon The cruel ocean far too dark and deep Even search crews began to weep Echoes were heard from deep beneath Faint moans and groans through shattered teeth [pre-chorus] Searchers yelled – “More lights over here” Nothing to see but the response was clear “We’re too late, no survivors” “Hurry don’t wait, call in the divers” [chorus] [female vocal] Whispers beyond from the sunken ship Haunting winds make a heartbeat skip Waters swirl to draw you in A pull so strong, you cannot win Souls emerge so get a grip You won’t escape the old ghost ship [verse 2] [Male vocal] As years rolled by more lives were taken All prior beliefs have been forsaken The ghost ship emerges once more from it’s depth So when I tell you what’s next, hold on to your breath A sight so ominous you may not survive When that freak wave arrives, prepare to dive The ghost ship surges and creates a wave If you stay down you may never be saved Swishing and swirling like a washing machine I hope for your sake it is only a dream [bridge] Down and down, subsiding further Again and again, you hear a murmur Darker and darker, down below Colder and colder, from head to toe [chorus] [female vocal] Whispers beyond from the sunken ship Haunting winds make a heartbeat skip Waters swirl to draw you in A pull so strong, you cannot win Souls emerge so get a grip You won’t escape the old ghost ship [outro] [Narration – male vocal] The ghost ship wins again and again It will consume more souls, just don’t know when A ship once above but now below Hello ghost ship, hello, hello Deeper and deeper within your soul To heed my warning – was your mistaken goal.
