Rise Up

[Intro] Yeah Dark streets, heavy hearts Same world, different choices You can pull somebody down... Or you can pull somebody out Rise up [Chorus] Rise Up, Rise Up — lift somebody up Rise Up, Rise Up — stand when times get tough Rise Up, Rise Up — do right when it's hard Rise Up, Rise Up — lead with your heart [Verse 1] I seen good men fall when nobody reached Seen kids learn hate from the words we teach Seen pride walk loud with an empty chest Talking real big but it failed the test You want respect, better show some first Don't feed that fire, don't make it worse If a man's on the ground and his luck went cold Put a hand in the dirt, help him carry that load Everybody wants a crown, nobody wants scars Everybody wants light, nobody wants dark But the truth is built in the things unseen Who you are offstage, who you are off-screen So watch how you move when the room gets loud Real strength don't have to beat down a crowd You can stand ten toes, you can hold your line Still give that grace when it's hard to find [Chorus] Rise Up, Rise Up — lift somebody up Rise Up, Rise Up — stand when times get tough Rise Up, Rise Up — do right when it's hard Rise Up, Rise Up — lead with your heart [Verse 2] Don't call it weak when a man shows peace That's a locked-down soul with a clean release That's a loaded word that he chose not to fire That's a low road left for something higher You got hands? Then build, don't break You got breath? Then speak what's straight You got pain? Don't pass it on Turn that hurt into something strong I know this world likes teeth and claws Likes cold revenge and broken laws Likes fake tough talk with a poison tongue Then wonders why the next man comes undone But we ain't gotta live like that We ain't gotta give that darkness back We can flip that script, we can change that sound Pick one more soul up off that ground [Chorus] Rise Up, Rise Up — lift somebody up Rise Up, Rise Up — stand when times get tough Rise Up, Rise Up — do right when it's hard Rise Up, Rise Up — lead with your heart [Bridge] When nobody sees — do right When nobody claps — stand right When nobody knows — shine light When the world goes low — rise high [Verse 3] This ain't preachin' from a throne up top I been in that mud where the good thoughts stop I been mad, been tired, been close to cold Had to fight that shadow tryna take my soul So I'm talking to me when I'm talking to you We all got dirt that we're walking through But a dirty road don't mean stay down Get your boots in the gravel, turn your life around Give respect where the respect is due Speak truth, let your word stay true If you say you got honor, then prove that claim Not by running your mouth, but by living that name No more kings of a broken block No more hearts made out of rock If one of us rises, then we all stand tall So answer that call when you hear that call [Final Chorus] Rise Up, Rise Up — lift somebody up Rise Up, Rise Up — stand when times get tough Rise Up, Rise Up — do right when it's hard Rise Up, Rise Up — lead with your heart Rise Up, Rise Up — lift somebody up Rise Up, Rise Up — never give it up Rise Up, Rise Up — do right when it's hard Rise Up, Rise Up — lead with your heart [Outro] Dark streets, heavy hearts Same world, better choices Rise up
