[Intro] (Spoken) Dr. K looked me dead in the face and said, “We gon’ have to cut in.” Whole world shrank to one joint and one choice. I thought, “Man…” Then I thought, “Okay. One more throw.” Yeah. [Verse 1 ] Dr. K said, “You’re screwed,” I laughed in my head, Two of ’em in the elbow, not the life I led. Woke up heavy, arm packed tight, Whole season on pause, comeback fight. Phone full of “you got this,” “you’ll be fine,” But nobody sits inside your spine. First week home, can’t open a door, Shirt half on, feet stuck to the floor. Everybody talk like this just a scene, “You’ll be back soon, you know what I mean.” But they don’t see the doubt when the house go still, When you ask yourself quiet, “What if I never will?” So I start small, just movin’ a hand, Couple slow squeezes, listen to the band. PT before sunrise, grind ’fore class, Rubber on the wrist, no ball, no grass. Ash there countin’ reps when the world still black, Built me piece by piece, put my strength right back. [Hook] One more throw, one more day, I lost some time but I found my way. Stitch by stitch, I rebuilt this part, New scar on the arm, same fire in the heart. Long road back, yeah, I felt that load, But I learned my worth ain’t just what I throw. I’m not all the way back, but I’m close enough to know, Every step I take now is one more throw. [Verse 2] They cleared me to hit before they cleared me to pitch, Felt weird at the plate with that phantom itch. Bat in my hands but no full send, Like I borrowed my body from an old best friend. First swing late, second one pure, Whole cage woke up like, “Yeah, that’s yours.” Back in the dugout, jersey on back, Still half my game sittin’ in black. I cheer for the arms like they carry my name, Clap for the wins I don’t touch in the frame. Some days I’m grateful, some days I’m sore, Some nights I’m askin’, “Am I still what I was before?” Then a thought hit different walkin’ off that dirt, Maybe I’m more than the stats that hurt. More than the pitch count, more than the chart, I’m the way that I show up when the rehab start. If I can love who I am when I can’t let it go, I’ll be ready for the mound when it’s time to throw. [Verse 3] When they finally said, “You can start to throw,” Ten feet felt like a mile to go. Every little twinge rang loud in my mind, Every soft catch felt sharp by design. We built it slow, no shortcut sprint, Flat‑ground, light work, listen for the hint. Mornings in PT, afternoons in class, Evenings in the cage lettin’ doubts go past. I got two screws holdin’ what they had to mend, But I’m more put together now than I was back then. Coe there on the rail sayin’, “Trust that feel,” Kept my head in the fight while my arm learned to heal. Fear still whisper, “What if this one costs?” Every step for a while felt like a coin toss. Then my answer got louder, “Man, look how far you’ve gone,” If I’m still here swingin’, that’s a sign I belong. So when they call my name to step back on the field, Cleared to compete with a healed‑up shield, I jog that line with a different view, I’m not just back, I’m rebuilt through and through. Mound still waitin’ on the far‑side sign, But I know when I toe it, I’ll be more than fine. [Final Hook] One more throw, one more day, I lost some time but I found my way. Stitch by stitch, I rebuilt this part, New scar on the arm, same fire in the heart. Long road back, yeah, I felt that load, But I learned my worth ain’t just what I throw. I’m not all the way back, but I’m close enough to know, Every step I take now is one more throw. (Spoken tag – Third Voice) Dr. K had to cut, but he ain't no hack, When it was tough, Ash and Coe had my back. Two screws, tough blow Whole new me, same old me. One more throw.
