Stars in the sky Kids wonder why But they’re just balls of gas And that is just that Some people walk their dogs at night They pass my porch and they say hi And their dog never ponders the bigger questions What are the questions? How are we here Why are we here What is the nature of consciousness Where do we go when we abandon this mortal plane Is there something or is there nothing And if there’s nothing then why should we even care Do morals follow ethics or ethics follow morals Who even knows Back to that dog He pads on paws And just wants to find a swell place to drop a deuce He doesn’t care about affairs Of mathematicians or philosophers It’s all just about meeting his needs for now So there you go, that’s what I think When I’m out to take a smoke break Nothing grand It’s fairly bland but I’m OK with it One last thought on my mind Before extinguishing this fine American Spirit If you can know what I don’t know Have you mastered the art of Epistemology That’s pretty rad.
