US: The rotten idol

Verse 1 Behold, the festering carcass of American rot, Shoved in an ill-fitting suit, a sight to be forgot, The sleaze of a conman, the cowardice so clear, A draft dodger’s shadow, steeped in coward’s fear. Verse 2 The gluttony of a parasite, a Klansman’s racist stain, Sexism from a back-alley creep, ignorance in his reign, A bar-stool drunk with hollow words, a ghoul from hedge-fund greed, Spray-painted orange, a prize hog’s strut, fulfilling every need. Verse 3 Not a president, not even a man, just a hollow, gaudy show, Paraded at the county fair where the shallow masses go, A diseased distillation of all this land denies, Yet it’s been our truth beneath the mask of patriotic lies. Verse 4 Arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism’s pride, Stupidity passed off as common sense, with cruelty by its side, Greed exalted as ambition, corruption like a prayer, A gospel sung by blinded souls, polluting all the air. Verse 5 America’s shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol stands, A nation kneels to money, power, spite with trembling hands, It doesn’t just lose its soul, no, it births this wretched sight, A bloated obscenity rises up to curse the day and night. Verse 6 This leader, crowned in shame, a mockery of grace, The land that swears it’s pure now stares into its face, A rotting idol, built on greed, on hate, on hollow cheer, Behold the truth we’ve sown, and tremble at what’s here.
