━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━I H E A R Y O U N O W━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ This one started with JMistique’s original song Sing Your Song, which she wrote from her own experience of childhood loneliness. What stood out to me was how honest it was, but also how it didn’t stay trapped in the sadness. There was still hope in it, and that feeling of a quiet voice slowly finding its way out. I could relate to that in my own way, so I wanted to put a piece of myself into the remix too. not by changing the heart of her song, but by building a world around it that felt personal to me. For my remix, I wanted to keep the heart of her song intact while bringing it into my own lane. R&B, future bass, pop, and a bigger melodic drop that turns the silence into something loud enough to be heard. The blue room, the cold phone, the tangled headphone's that became the world around the remix. Also, please excuse my piano skills in a few spots. I noticed a couple of little mistakes after I published it, but I decided to leave them in because they felt honest to the track, and somehow that suited the emotion of the song. This is my tribute to her song, and to anyone who ever felt unheard but kept singing anyway. The original usually carries the song identity. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Mm Yeah I hear you now Two thousand something Blue screen glow Tangled up headphones Volume low Singing to the carpet Door half closed Hiding little futures In the songs I wrote Cold phone beside me No name lit up I thought the quiet meant I did not belong I hear you in that room Where you learned not to ask All those little brave things You kept behind the glass Every line you buried Still had somewhere to go You were not disappearing You were learning to grow No one heard How loud it got Behind that door When the whole world stopped But night by night You stayed awake Drawing a way out With every line you made I hear you now From the room I left behind Little voice in the ceiling fan Still keeping time I hear you now When the lights cut out Every song you swallowed down Comes pouring from my mouth I hear you now You were not gone You were reaching out I hear you now Way out, way out I hear you now Way out, way out Blue room shaking now Loud now, loud now I used to think that love Had to stay to be true But some nights you survive Because the song stays with you Now every note I play Has your name somehow I do not run from the echo I can hear you now Under all the static Under all that skin Something kept waiting For the bass to come in No one heard how loud it got But night by night, we stayed awake Drawing a way out With every line we made I hear you now From the room I left behind Little voice in the ceiling fan Still keeping time I hear you now When the lights cut out Every song you swallowed down Comes pouring from my mouth I hear you now I hear you now You were not gone You were reaching out I cannot make the phone ring I cannot change that room I cannot stop the silence From sitting next to you But I can take the years That tried to close you down Put them in the speakers And turn the whole thing loud I hear you now From the room I left behind Little voice in the ceiling fan Still keeping time I hear me now When the lights cut out Every song I swallowed down Comes pouring from my mouth I hear me now I hear you now I was not gone I was reaching out I hear me now Way out, way out I hear me now I found my way out I hear you now I found my way out ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
