Ghosts of Stella Montis

+ Show full styles

Verse 1 Now Zeke and Brad rode out one dawn, from Speranza’s guarded line, Two Raiders chasing glory ’neath that haunted mountain shine. Through Stella Montis’ winding paths where shadows stretch and crawl, They sought their weight in treasure, though they barely knew the call. Verse 2 They slipped past roaring Bastions, dodged the Hornets in their flight, Moving soft as drifting tumbleweeds beneath the pale moonlight. But fate ain’t kind to wanderers who think they’ve read the land— For soon the Shredders found them, and they made their final stand. Chorus Oh, Stella Montis takes her toll, On every wide-eyed, hopeful soul. Beneath her peaks the brave may roam, But few return to tell the tale… And fewer still ride home. Verse 3 Now Zeke rode left to draw the beast, while Brad took steady aim, A Wolfpack whistled through the dust, exploding bright as flame. But the monster only staggered, and its rage began to rise— You could see the wrath of metal burning wild behind its eyes. Verse 4 Zeke set a trap with trembling hands, while Brad threw fire true— Three Blaze grenades in thunderous arcs that split the night in two. The beast lay still… but so did one who fought right at their side, A fallen Raider whispering their last breath as they died. Chorus Oh, Stella Montis takes her due, From hearts both steady, brave, and true. She’ll grant you gold or give you ghosts, But always claims her share… From those who dare her coast. Verse 5 With heavy hearts they turned to leave, but fate ain’t one to quit— Another Shredder found them there, refusing them to sit. Zeke lured it into ruin’s halls and called the exfil in, But the mountain took its payment, and he fell beneath the din. Verse 6 Brad staggered toward the metro doors, the screams behind him loud— He punched the exfil beacon as the world came crashing down. And just before the doors slid shut, before their fates were spun, Zeke stumbled through, the Shredder howling fury at the run. Final Chorus Oh, Stella Montis, cold and vast, Your ghosts will chase us to the last. Our heroes rode into the dusk, Half-broken, barely whole… Clinging tight to borrowed life, And haunted in their souls. Outro So raise a glass for Zeke and Brad, for all who heed the call— For Stella Montis waits for men Who think they cannot fall.
