When you count all the prophecies in this song that we sing, you’ll find they’re fulfilled in JESUS our King. For thousands of years, this true story’s been told; the Bible is where the proof will unfold. The prophets recorded God would come to this earth, hundreds of years before this Child’s birth. They predicted His lineage, His birthplace, His bed. They even foretold where He’d lay His head. We're told of a virgin to whom He ’d be born, that we in the future as King would adorn. A star would mark His birth, the Scripture had said, and men from afar to this Child would be led. The prophets predicted His forerunner, too. For God had some work that this person would do. The Christ Child’s name, given years in advance; His brief life on earth all lives would enhance. This One pre-existed, He would come to mankind, His only desire was for us Him to find. His message would be simple, “Believe and trust Me;” and as we grow like Him — the world Him could see. These 20 great prophecies are the reason we sing, they can only be fulfilled in JESUS— LORD, Savior, and King.
