My father told me years ago That water would become more precious than gold And so the story is told As the world begins to fold And we become less bold Our resources all are sold Our bodies and minds controlled Our homes lost and cold No protection for the old From dust and dirt and mould To a life that’s uncontrolled By politics at the polles Who refuse to break the mold To leave streets unpatrolled With students not enrolled To pensions they withhold And house lay unsold A pity to behold My father has foretold That water now is gold My father has foretold That water now is gold My father has foretold That water now is gold My father has foretold That water now is gold We can’t drink gold Water now is gold Water now is gold Forget your cash money Forget your diamonds Forget your jewellery Forget your gold Save the water Protect your sons Protect your daughters Save the water Water is gold water is gold Yeah yeah yeah Let me tell ya I said do ya hear me child Are your ears and eyes open Water is the new gold No need to feel blue Just need to protect the blue That’s nothing unknown Don’t say say the bird has flown It’s nothing new It’s just time to renew My father has foretold That water now is gold My father has foretold That water now is gold We can’t drink gold Those crops won’t grow on Gold no The animals can’t eat gold The trees, the trees won’t grow on gold no Water now is gold Water now is gold Forget your cash money Forget your diamonds Forget your jewellery Forget your gold Save the water Yeah yeah yeah yeah
